Wood Betony comes from the Celtic word meaning “good head,” which is why it's a popular remedy for headaches. Headaches can be attributed to various conditions, but tension headaches can come from an overactive pituitary gland. This imbalance can be attributed to what is known as an “overactive third eye.”

Jupiter rules the pituitary gland and liver and is expansive and abundant with Mercury; this helps our minds expand. Wood Betony highlights our intentions and helps us with decision-making. When our minds are overactive, and we find ourselves stressed, that can lead to tension headaches. This is due to the relationship between the pituitary and the liver /gallbladder. Earth rules the gallbladder, and Jupiter rules the liver. The Gallbladder governs decision-making and planning, and emotionally, it's responsible for our life's passions and feeling inspired.
