Alcohol (Organic):

Found naturally in some fruits (apricots, cranberries) and teas. Its primary function in cosmetics is as a preservative, and it’s among the least irritating preservatives in use. 

 

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride:

Thickener derived from coconut oil and glycerin, it’s considered an excellent emollient and skin-repairing ingredient. 

 

Capryly Glycol:

Gentle surfactant used as cleanser/lather booster. 

 

Decyl Glucoside:

Glucose-based cleansing agent/surfactant used to stabilize emulsion.

 

Deionized Water:

Distilled/purified water used as solvent.

 

Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate:

A very mild, foam-booster/cleansing agent.

 

Ethylhexylglycerin:

Conditioning agent and mild preservative.

 

Glycerin:

Naturally occurring alcohol compound used as a humectant. Helps pull in moisture from healthy oils. 

 

Lactic Acid:

A skin-conditioning humectant. An alpha hydroxy acid, naturally produced in the process of bacterial fermentation. Primrose Organics sources fermented corn. Restores elasticity, strengthens and repairs the cuticle.

 

MCT Oil (Medium-chain triglycerides):

A strengthening combination of fatty acids, found in coconut oil. 

 

Panthanol:

A form of vitamin B5, used as a moisturizer and lubricating compound. Plant origin.

 

PEG 40:

Organically sourced thickening agent that is a mixture of polyethylene glycol (PEG) with castor oil.

 

Phenoxyethanol: 

Used as a preservative and antiseptic lubricant, it's an alternative to harsher preservatives such as parabens or formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.

 

Sodium Cocoamphoacetate:

A coconut oil-derived surfactant and conditioning agent used for it's gentleness and smoothing quality. 

 

Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate:

An organic salt that functions as a surfactant, foaming cleanser.

 

Sorbic Acid:

Natural fruit-derived preservative.

 

Stearalkonium Chloride:

An ammonium salt used as an antistatic surfactant and preservative. Softens the hair by sealing the cuticle. 

 

Tetrasodium:

A salt used as a bonding agent to enhance absorption.

 

Triethanolamine:

An emulsifier to stabilize and balance PH levels.

 

Xanthan Gum:
